Yes - please be aware though that you will still be asked to provide proof of ownership for the stolen or damaged items.
If you intend to make a claim, you must provide evidence of proof of ownership, age and value of your belongings to substantiate your claim. It’s useful to keep all receipts for items you buy on your trip separate from the items in case you need to make a claim.
Our claims teams may ask you to supply the original documents to verify your claim, so you should keep these safe, just in case.
Proof of ownership can include photographic evidence in conjunction with warranty cards, manuals, receipts, bank or credit card statements. In the end, common sense prevails, and you should ask yourself, "Does this conclusively prove that I owned this item?".
Travel insurance tip: always gather receipts for the items you’re taking with you. Scan them and keep a copy in your inbox just in case your gear gets stolen, and you need to make a claim.
Written notice of a claim should be given to us by signing in to your World Nomads membership and submitting your claim online or by requesting a claim form from World Nomads. Written notice should be sent to us as soon as you can after your return home to enable the timely collection of evidence and assessment of your claim.
Contact us if you have any queries relating to your claim and what you need to send in to support your claim.
