Group tours and cruises are such a fun way to travel. You have experts planning your trip to make sure you see and do all the best things. As a bonus, you’ll probably meet some other fun nomads on your tour as well.
What happens though if you book a group tour to Africa, and are notified just before the trip that the dates are being changed? This can happen sometimes if your guide gets sick, there’s bad weather, or not enough people signed up for your particular trip. If your tour now leaves 5 days later, you may need to change pre-booked travel arrangements, and we know that may not be cheap. Because of these unexpected situations that can sometimes change the dates of your trip, you may want to consider getting a quote for a travel protection plan that includes the trip exchange insurance benefit.
The trip exchange benefit is available for US residents who purchased the Explorer or Epic plans. If the dates get changed by the travel supplier for your group tour or cruise prior to your scheduled departure or if you cancel your trip due to one of the unforeseen reasons listed under trip cancellation, you could be reimbursed for the following up to the plan maximum:
Your travel protection plans from World Nomads includes multiple benefits and could also cover you for things like trip cancellation and trip interruption. Make sure to read your plan documents to understand what is included with the travel protection plan you purchased.
While we know travel suppliers can sometimes switch things up with your land-based adventures, it can also happen when you’re traveling at sea as well. Cruises can be an exciting way to see the world and experience multiple destinations over a short period of time, but they aren’t immune to changes.
Maybe you’ve booked that cruise that departs from Florida, and you have your flight booked to Miami. You may even have a hotel booked on South Beach for a few days before the cruise. You then get the dreaded email saying the dates are changing. Just as the trip exchange benefits could cover your land-based group tours, they could also cover cruises that change dates on you as well.
If your trip includes a tour or cruise, there’s sometimes a possibility of dates being changed by your travel supplier. Because of that, it may be advantageous to look into travel insurance coverage that includes the trip exchange benefit. When you get a quote, you’ll be able to review all of the options and pick the travel protection plan that best fits your needs.

I arrived in Delhi from Rome. Baggage claim help desk informed me that my bag had been delayed in transit. I was without my bag for almost a week before it was finally delivered to me. It was cold in Delhi (being winter, December) and my warm jacket was in my bag, requiring that I purchase a jacket and other items of warm clothing that I had not taken in my carry-on.
