US Residents can protect themselves with emergency medical and evacuation coverage in case of a travel accident
As featured in:
Even with careful trip planning, accidents can happen. Road accidents are one of the more common travel risks to be aware of when exploring destinations abroad.. Data from the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention* shows that motor vehicle accidents are the leading cause of non-natural deaths for US citizens traveling internationally. However, other accidents can happen too -- like getting cut on coral while scuba diving in Australia or breaking a leg while skiing in Japan.
In those instances, you may need to get emergency medical care while you’re overseas. Your World Nomads plan may provide coverage if you have an accident during your travels, including medical treatment, hospital stays, ambulance rides, and more. If you’re hurt in a remote location and there’s not adequate treatment in your immediate area, you may be transported to the nearest suitable medical facility where treatment is available. If it is deemed medically necessary that you should go back to the US, you may be covered for the costs to get back for treatment. You must be pre-approved for these benefits by calling the 24/7 Non-Insurance Emergency Assistance Team. Terms and conditions apply.
