For information relating to policies purchased prior to October 23 2024, please check the Policy Wording provided with your purchase. You can contact us if you need this sent to you again. For plans purchased after October 23 2024, please see below.
Every claim you make will require documentation. This can come in the form of medical reports, police reports or receipts. Sometimes you may need all three. When you have a travel incident you *think* could qualify for reimbursement from your travel insurance* plan, save everything.
After logging onto your World Nomads member account, you'll be asked to pick the plan you need to make the claim on (if you've purchased multiple plans, all of them will show. Pick the one with the correct date.) From there, you'll be prompted to click on the portal for our claims administrator, Trip Mate. After answering several questions, it'll ask you to upload various documents. It’s always better to send too much than too little. If you file a claim for a stolen bag, you are going to need to prove the bag and everything in it was yours to begin with. This can be done with receipts and/or pictures.
If you were hospitalized overseas, we’ll need the bill and the doctor’s notes. If a long airline delay caused you to miss your planned group tour, we’ll need to see proof of the delay (while you are waiting at the airport anyways, ask the airline representative to email you documentation). We’ll also need to see the planned start of the group tour and the expenses relating to that.
For most cases, you can scan and upload your documents in your membership portal, but you may be requested to send the originals.
