If your passport is lost or stolen from your person, eg taken from your bag without your knowledge while you were carrying it OR lost or stolen when locked in a safe or safety deposit box, you can claim:
The reasonable additional travel and accommodation expenses you have to pay whilst abroad as a result of you needing to replace a lost or stolen passport.

The local police within 24 hours
Your nearest embassy, consulate or government office so you can apply for your replacement passport.
When making a claim for your lost or stolen passport, you must provide the written police report and receipts for all costs incurred. No policy excess applies to claims related to the loss or theft of travel documents.
Here are some of the main things that aren’t covered:
Any costs that you would have incurred had you not lost your passport or travel documents.
Any costs incurred if your passport has been left unattended at any time (except when locked in a safe or safety box) or if you do not exercise reasonable care for the safety or supervision of your passport/travel documents.
Anything mentioned in the Section Exclusions, under Section 4.
Travel insurance is not designed to cover everything, so take the time to read the full description of cover in the policy wording for the full details on what’s covered and not covered. If you have any questions please get in touch.
