If you return home for a reason other than for a medical emergency, you will need to pay your own transportation – both back to your house and back to your original trip destination should you wish to pick up where you left off after some time at home.
While your coverage is not in effect when you’re at home, it’s still valid when you travel up until the original end date of your policy, provided that you’ve returned home to visit and not for a covered sickness. That means you don’t have to buy a new policy if you choose to get back on the road. You will have to purchase an extension or a new policy, however, if you want to travel beyond your policy’s original end date.
