As part of the global sale by nib Travel Pty Ltd (nib) of its World Nomads travel business to the International Medical Group Inc family of companies (IMG), NIB Travel Services Europe Limited (nib EU) will transfer its regulated activities to IMG Europe AB (IMG EU) provided certain conditions are fulfilled.
We’re required to let customers know about this change under banking and consumer protection regulations.
IMG EU is authorised and regulated in Sweden and can provide services across the European Economic Area (EEA).
We anticipate the sale to complete between 31 August 2026 and 1 December 2026. We’ll confirm the exact date closer to the time here.

World Nomads is being sold to IMG, a global travel insurance provider. This is a change in ownership, but not a change to how your policy works today as outlined in this letter.

No. Rest assured your current policy will continue as normal, with the same cover, terms and conditions. Any optional add-ons, including activities and high value items you’ve selected, will remain unchanged.

Yes. If your policy covers travel after the sale completes, your cover will continue as expected.
No. You don’t need to do anything. Everything will continue as normal.
If you buy a new policy after the sale takes place, it will be issued by IMG. This won’t affect the level of cover you receive.
Your policy details and personal information, including all individuals covered under the policy, will be securely transferred to IMG so that your cover can continue and you can continue to receive services.
Your information will continue to be handled in line with applicable data protection laws, our global privacy policy and where applicable the policy in your country of residence. It will also continue to be shared with relevant partners (such as the policy insurer) and, for a period, with nib to support a smooth transition.
You have the right to object to your data being transferred to IMG, however if you have an active policy with us at the time of the sale completing, it may need to be cancelled as continuity cannot occur without your data. There is no change to how you make a claim. Any existing or new claims will continue to be handled as normal and will not be affected by this change.
If you need to make a claim, you should continue to do so via the customer portal, as usual.
The sale is subject to regulatory approvals in various countries and certain conditions agreed between IMG and nib. If completion does not occur, we will provide an update to you.
Until the approvals are obtained and the conditions fulfilled, it is difficult to ascertain the exact timing for the sale. We currently anticipate the sale to complete between 31 August 2026 and 1 December 2026. We’ll confirm the exact date closer to the time here.
No. Once completion occurs, your policy and any new policies that you purchase from IMG EU will remain underwritten by Collinson Insurance Europe Limited and captured in the same travel insurance platform to ensure continuity of service in accordance with your policy.
For policies sold pre completion of the sale to IMG, it is in your best interests to notify us as soon as possible should you have any complaint or potential claim. After the sale occurs, your complaint or claim may no longer be covered by nib’s professional indemnity insurance (PII). For policies purchased post completion of the sale, IMG’s PII will be applicable.
If you have an AMT policy, it will continue until its expiry date.
Your AMT policy will not be automatically renewed. You will however be able to purchase a new AMT policy with IMG once your current policy ends.
