How it works

Share an image, video, blog or vlog post that shows us your creativity and passion for travel
2. Share it with us
Fill in the form, link to your content (publicly accessible) and tell us why you should win
3. Submit your entry
We’ll shortlist our favourites, meet you via Zoom and award our 4 scholarship winners
What we're looking for
We want to see your best travel content and understand why you think you should win. Your content can be old or new, but must:
- Be an image, video, blog or vlog post that is in English and publicly accessible
- Showcase a travel story, experience or location
- Show originality, creativity and be visually engaging
- Take 2 minutes maximum to review in full (view, watch or read)
Your 150 word or less written submission needs to convince our judges that you have a passion for travel and creating content as a career. We will be weighting your entry based on submitted content (80%) and your written submission (20%).
Linked entries posted to Private accounts will be disqualified. World Nomads reserves the rights to re-use your submitted content. Strictly one entry per person.

I speak very little English. Will this be a problem?
To be eligible, your submission must be in English. Our judging panel will be comprised of English speakers, making it impossible to fairly judge submissions in other languages. To get the most out of the mentorship, you will need to be able to communicate with your mentors in English.

Can professional Content Creators apply? Am I considered a professional?
Have you been regularly commissioned to make content (in any genre) or derive more than 25% of your income from any aspect of content creation? If so, you would be considered a professional and are not eligible to apply.
If you're still learning the craft and creating content is responsible for less than 25% of your income, then you’re eligible to apply. This may mean you’ve had work commissioned in the past or keep a regular social channel or blog of your own – but it isn’t your full-time gig.
We will be asking shortlisted applicants to outline their experience to date before selecting winners.
Meet your mentors
Jarryd and Alesha are Nomadasaurus, professional content creators, Sony ambassadors and GoPro family members from Australia. Their career was kick-started when Jarryd won the World Nomads Travel Writing Scholarship in 2014.
They’ve since built a large social following and Australia’s top adventure travel blog as Nomadasaurus. Having featured in Nat Geo, BBC, CNN, Lonely Planet, BuzzFeed and more, today they travel the globe creating content on assignment and run workshops in far-flung places such as Antarctica.
