World Nomads: Making changes to your travel insurance policy

You can sign in to your World Nomads membership to make certain changes to your policy or you can contact us.

Information you can change before your policy starts:

  • Start date. You can change the start date of the policy to any day, except to today’s date or a date in the past.

  • Cancel your policy. We’ll give you a full refund if you cancel your policy within the 10 Right-to-Examine period as long as you haven’t travelled under your policy, are not making a claim or are exercising any rights under the policy. If you are a World Nomads member, you may cancel your policy by signing into your membership or by contacting us by email, phone or post.

Once you're on the road, you can:

  • Extend your policy online using your World Nomads membership. You’ll need to pay an additional premium, and the extension is subject to terms and conditions.

Things you can change anytime:

  • Change your address. Go to 'edit my profile' after you sign in to your membership. If you change your country of residence, you will need to create a new membership.

  • View/print your Certificate of Insurance. We‘ll always store your certificate on your membership page, so it’s easy to access whenever you need it.

Things you can’t change once the policy is issued:

  • End date of your policy. You can extend your policy but can’t cut your trip short and expect a refund for the unused portion of your policy. You also won’t be eligible for a refund after the Right-to-Examine period or if you’ve already started your travels.

  • Upgrades mid-trip.  Sorry, it’s not possible to upgrade your plan once you’ve already started travelling.

Other mistakes:

If you’ve made any other mistake on your Certificate of Insurance (such as date of birth, name changes) or you have any other issues, please contact us and we’ll try to fix it for you.

This is only a summary of coverage and does not include the full terms and conditions of the policy. It is important you read and understand your policy as it contains benefits, conditions, exclusions and pre-existing condition exclusions. If you do not understand your coverage, or if you have questions about your coverage, just ask us.
