A pre-existing medical condition is an ongoing health or dental issue – or the related complications you have from it – which you are aware of, or which is currently being or has been investigated by a physician prior to your travel insurance plan start date.
Any irregularity in your health which required or requires medical advice, consultation, investigation, treatment, care, service or diagnosis by a doctor (including complications of pregnancy within the first 26 weeks of pregnancy), count as a pre-existing condition.
You won’t be covered for pre-existing medical conditions if you or someone else involved in the claim sought or received treatment, started new medication or had a change in medication (type, use or dosage) in a certain period of time before your start date. The specific amount of time varies based on your age; see the policy wording for details.
