Travel insurance and high-value specified items

Currently, the policy for Canadian residents does not provide coverage for high value “specified” items, and there is no option to pay an additional premium to cover these specific valuables.

However, this does not mean that you do not have coverage. If a high-value item has been stolen or damaged, you are still able to submit a claim up to the listed standard limits applicable to the baggage, personal effects and sporting equipment section of the policy.

Keep in mind that there are some things that we don’t cover at all such as antiques and collectibles, furniture, and fragile objects.

This is only a summary of coverage and does not include the full terms and conditions of the policy.  It is important you read and understand your policy as it contains benefits, conditions, exclusions and pre-existing condition exclusions.  If you do not understand your coverage, or if you have questions, just ask us.
