Meet Maxine Rose Schur

Maxine Rose Schur’s travel essays have appeared in numerous anthologies and publications, including the San Francisco Chronicle, The Christian Science Monitor, Los Angeles Times, San Diego Union-Tribune, and Salon.com. She has twice won the Lowell Thomas Award from the Society of American Travel Writers. Maxine’s memoir, Places in Time, was named Best Travel Book by the North American Travel Journalists Association and won the Gold award from the Society of American Travel Writers. Her recent World Nomads story, Hung, the Boat Woman of Hue, won a silver award for "Most Unforgettable Character" in the 12th Annual Solas Awards for travel writing. Maxine is also the author of award-winning children’s books.
