Take a Pass on Flight Delays
Trusted by:
Traveling is an adventure, but let's face it, flight delays can be a major buzzkill. Whether it's due to weather, mechanical issues, or the inexplicable mysteries of airline scheduling, delays are almost inevitable. And yeah, sometimes in those long stretches spent staring at the departure board it can really feel like the only thing truly taking off is your patience.
That's where SmartDelay™ comes in. With this nifty new parametric service (an insurance product that offers a pre-specified payout based upon a trigger event), World Nomads UK customers on all Annual Multi-Trip and Single Trip policies (both Standard and Explorer) can turn the frustration of a delayed flight into a chance to relax and refresh in an airport lounge.
No lounge? No problem, where available you can access alternative benefits such as spa, sleep pods and restaurant discounts. Read on to discover how SmartDelay™ can turn your travel hiccups into a smooth experience.
How does it work? Before you travel (at least 24 hours), register your flight with SmartDelay. If your flight is delayed by 90 minutes or more, you’ll receive a LoungeKey™ pass via email and SMS, giving you access to over 1,500 airport lounges or lounge alternatives worldwide. No lounge available? Not to worry - you can redeem your pass at alternative benefits such as spa, sleep pods and restaurant discounts where available.
Who is eligible for this benefit? The main policy holder and up to four additional passengers (named on their policy and on the same flight) all qualify for the pass. Just make sure you register all passengers during the registration process.
How is a delay calculated? A delay is calculated based on ‘gate’ delay reporting from airlines and airports to FlightStats. If your flight is delayed by 90 minutes or more, SmartDelay will issue lounge pass
Which flights can I register? You can register almost all major commercial airline flights, as long as the airline reports data accurately to FlightStats.
When can I register my flight? Register any time after your flight is scheduled and no later than 24 hours before departure. Visit World Nomads SmartDelay to register.
Do I need to register for a child? Check the policies of the lounges at your departure airport. If the lounge accepts children under two without payment, no need to register. If children are allowed but require registration, include them during your flight registration. You can refer to lounge information online at https://loungefinder.loungekey.com/Pass.
What should I do if I don’t receive my confirmation email? Contact the Customer Service team at our partners Collinson on +44 203 725 1601 or SmartDelaysupport@collinsongroup.com.
Can I change my email address after registration has been submitted? Once submitted, you can’t change registration details. Please cancel the registration and re-register with the correct information.
Can I amend a flight registration? To make changes, cancel your existing registration via the link in your confirmation email and re-register your flight.
