What is World Nomads Powered by Air Doctor?

Introducing the ultimate World Nomads healthcare hack for travelling Brits: Air Doctor. From Madrid to Montreal, the Air Doctor app puts a global network of trusted doctors in your back pocket so you can access the care you need in a language you understand—without the fuss of currency exchanges.

Benefits of Air Doctor to World Nomads policyholders

Air Doctor is available to all World Nomads policyholders—both Standard Plan and Explorer Plans, and Annual Multi-Trip and Single Trip Travel Insurance.

Here’s what makes Air Doctor a game-changer for UK travellers abroad:

  • Global network: Do you have preferences when picking a doctor? It’s understandable. With Air Doctor, you enjoy access to more than 20,000 doctors in 75 countries across the globe, so you’re sure to find that perfect fit.
  • Cashless & hassle-free: Forget about fumbling with foreign currency, making insurance claims, gap payments, or even worse…surprise medical bills. With Air Doctor, all your visits are cashless. Simply attend your appointment, get help, and get on with your travels.
  • Speak your own language: No one wants to experience lost-in-translation moments regarding their health. Whether in the bustling markets of Marrakech or the mountains of Switzerland, you’ll always have access to medical support in your preferred language with Air Doctor.
  • 24/7 availability: Health concerns don’t stick to schedules or time zones. In fact, they often occur at the most inconvenient times. If you find yourself nursing a midnight headache after an epic day exploring Tokyo and want to speak to a doctor back home in the UK, Air Doctor can make it happen.
  • Choose your time and place: Whether in a clinic, your hotel, or over a video call, Air Doctor lets you pick when and where, so you can get quality healthcare without disrupting your adventure abroad.

When to Use Air Doctor

  • Non-urgent medical issues: Air Doctor is perfect for UK travellers who need a quick consultation for non-urgent medical issues. Think the type of scenarios where you might visit the GP when you’re feeling under the weather at home.

When not to use Air Doctor

  • Urgent medical issues: Air Doctor isn’t for medical emergencies. If you’re experiencing a serious or life-threatening medical problem, contact our 24/7 Emergency Medical Assistance team

World Nomads policies cannot cover claims due to Pre-Existing Medical Conditions (PEMC), regardless of whether the condition is serious or not. You can still purchase a World Nomads policy, but the PEMC exclusion cannot be removed, and you will be responsible for any related costs.
