How we helped when this nomad lost their passport

I was in Rushkar, Rajasthan when I realized that I could not find my passport. I could not book into any hotel without it, and needed to get back to Delhi to report the matter to the nearest British High Commission. Unfortunately, two days before, the Mumbai bombings had taken place and I could not get back to Delhi by train as all trains were booked and the police were only allowing passengers to travel who had reservations and valid I.D. because of the special circumstances. A tour operator had to organize my trip back to Delhi, and they were also able to book me into a hotel. While I was waiting for a new passport to be issued, I had to stay in Delhi for 18 days.
