We learned about this neighborhood restaurant through Michael, our taxi driver friend (we would never have found it without a local showing it to us). The owner, Beatrice Barletas Scali, was hesitant to give an interview at first, but later opened up. She’s very proud of her restaurant, and her passion for food and bringing people together was evident. It felt like being at a friend’s BBQ.
