The Adventure Travel Conservation Fund directly funds local projects engaged in the conservation of unique natural and cultural resources of adventure travel destinations.

The ATCF is a non-profit that will provide funding, connections and an international spotlight on projects that protect the cultural and natural resources which underpin the adventure tourism industry.

This project will create an ecotourism model that helps local communities protect the area’s biodiversity while improving their lifestyles.

Protect sharks and rays in Panama

This project will improve the understanding, management, and stewardship of threatened sharks and rays in Panama’s biodiversity-rich Coiba Island and surrounding waters – a national park and UNESCO World Heritage Site and an important adventure travel destination – through the long-term engagement of local communities and the public in baseline research and conservation, and the promotion of engaged, conscientious and sustainable tourism.

This project will help save endangered macaws in Belize, future proofing their environment against predicted increases in tourism to the area through training and on-site monitoring.

This project will reduce trash and litter generated by trekkers along the major trails of the Everest region through constructing waste collection bins to help keep trails, forests, fields and waterways clean.
