Severe wildfires are affecting parts of south-west France, particularly the Gironde region near Bordeaux, and areas of central and eastern Spain, including regions west of Madrid and around Valencia. The fires have been fuelled by extreme heat, dry conditions and strong winds, resulting in large-scale evacuations, road closures, damage to homes and infrastructure, and disruption to transport and tourism services. Travellers to affected areas may experience delays, cancellations, restricted access and other travel disruptions. Areas outside the affected regions are not necessarily impacted.

How does this event affect your cover
If you already have a policy with us, coverage may be available subject to the policy terms, conditions, limitations and exclusions.
Policies purchased or extended once circumstances that could result in a claim are known, or should have been known, will not provide cover for any losses which arise in relation to those circumstances.

If you need to change your travel arrangements, contact your airline, cruise company or travel agent for assistance in the first instance.
