New York, NY - World Nomads has partnered with NOMADasaurus, Sony, and RØDE microphones to offer budding content creators the chance to win one of four Travel Content Creator Scholarships.
The new global scholarship will give content makers the opportunity, on a global platform, to show their best content. The four scholarship program winners will learn how to sharpen their skills and gain experience and access to opportunities with World Nomads and beyond.
The scholarship, open until October 16, offers one-on-one mentoring from top travel-content creators NOMADasaurus, professional-standard gear from Sony and RØDE microphones, and US $2500 in trip funding to create content on assignment for World Nomads.
“World Nomads is delighted to support the next generation of content makers – people with a passion for travel, filmmaking, writing, and photography,” said Christina Tunnah, general manager of marketing and brands, World Nomads. “Our scholarship program has been running for 16 years. It reflects the World Nomads community and its drive for capturing the great narratives and stories of the host communities in which they travel.”
Past scholarship winners have moved on to major careers in travel content, including Australia’s NOMADasaurus, winners of the 2014 Travel Writing scholarship.

In previous years, World Nomads offered individual scholarships for travel writing, travel filmmaking, and travel photography. Since 2007, 100,000 travelers from more than 100 countries have entered for their chance to win. This year, four scholarships are on offer.
The four winners will learn new skills across all three disciplines in addition to the business savvy it takes to succeed in the creator economy. The new program aims to stay relevant to the evolving nature of content creation and changing attitudes toward combining travel, life, work, entertainment, and media.
To enter, applicants must provide a link to a public post of their best travel content. Four winners will receive more than US $5,000 in prizes to help kick-start their careers. Winners will have their content shared on World Nomads’ social, email, and website channels, allowing them to reach a large global audience and gain access to further opportunities.
