On Sunday, 23 February 2025, Cyclone Alfred formed off the coast of Queensland with the Bureau of Meteorology classifying it as category one that afternoon. Cyclone Alfred is now forecast to make landfall later this week and is likely to bring with it significant rainfall and flooding to the region. Communities in the affected regions have been warned to prepare, and travel disruption in the area is anticipated.
Policies purchased after 11:00am, 2 March 2025, AEDT will not provide cover for losses arising from this event as it is now widely reported in the media.
This does not impact cover provided by policies purchased prior to this time, subject to the terms of the policy.
