Media outlets such as The Guardian and BBC have reported that Ryanair pilots are to conduct a series of strikes on 18, 19, 21, 23, 25, 27 and 29 September 2019.

I’m heading on holidays to this region -  what does this mean for me?

As this event is now anticipated and being reported in the media, there is no cover for claims arising from this strike action for policies purchased after 02:00 am (UTC) on 5 September 2019.

If your Certificate of Insurance was issued before this time and date, cover may be available if your travel is impacted by this event. Please check your policy for more details or contact us.

In the event of a claim, you must do everything you can to minimise and reduce the cost of the claim and provide all supporting documentation of the event and expenses incurred.

If you intend to submit a claim, please complete the claim form and if you need help doing this, contact us.

What should I do now?

In the first instance, if you think your travel plans might be affected you should first:

  1. Contact your airline, cruise or tour operator to check if tourist services are affected.

  2.  If you need to change your travel arrangements, contact your airline, cruise company or travel agent for assistance in the first instance.

If you’re in an emergency situation, injured or ill and need help, contact the 24/7 emergency assistance team as soon as possible. Their details are listed on your Certificate of Insurance.

If you have any other concerns, please contact us.
