Meet Sarah Townend

I am from Sydney, and now live in the Blue Mountains, west of the city. As well as English I speak very basic French, German and Latin. I can also read Hieroglyphics!
I started working for World Nomads in May 2012 but moved into my current role in January 2019. I am the eyes, ears and voice of our travelers. I do this by monitoring reviews, ensuring our service is humming and asking for feedback on how we performed. I feed all this info back into our product and marketing teams so that we're remaining traveler-centric and on top of our game. I love working here because of the people, people and people. I love connecting with all curious and adventurous travelers and hearing their experiences.
I travel to meet other humans, gain an appreciation of their culture and an understanding of their history. My first solo adventure was to Papua New Guinea when I was 18. I hiked through the jungle with a group of people I just met and who have remained close friends to this day. It was such an eye-opening, challenging and amazing experience.
