Meet Nazia Siraj
Software Development Manager
I was born and raised in Pakistan but worked in Malaysia for almost three years before moving to the beautiful city of Sydney as a permanent resident of Australia in 2016. Urdu is my mother tongue however English is my first language.
I started working for World Nomads in 2019 as the Software Development Manager for the three front-end teams. I love the people I work with; everyone is so friendly and eager to learn and do more and I love that everyone is so passionate about the product's quality and the customer experience.
Travel is what makes me feel liberated and exhilarated. I’ve covered 13 countries so far and am looking forward to many more. My most memorable adventure was a month-long trip around USA, which I took more than a couple of months to plan. We went from Chicago to Wisconsin to Dallas to Houston to Austin to San Antonio to Los Angeles to Las Vegas. My favourite days were the ones spent in Disneyland. I felt like I was under 10 the whole time and it was perfect.
An occasion when travel insurance was a life saver was when I was in Malacca in Malaysia. I was on a water ride which malfunctioned, and I ended up with 11 stitches, a broken nose, a chipped tooth and bruises all over my body. I had to have x-rays of my skull, a CT scan of my jaw and had a surgery for the stitches. Everything was handled by my insurance company, giving me the head space to recover from the emotional trauma.
