Editorial Producer
I was born and raised in Reno, Nevada (USA) but fell in love with San Francisco at age seven and moved there after college. Though I graduated with a degree in Graphic Design, my talents were better suited to writing, and I’ve spent most of my career as an advertising and marketing copywriter. I hate moving, but have lived in five different neighborhoods in San Francisco and three in Oakland. I now live in Alameda, an island city in San Francisco Bay.
My first trip abroad was a six-week backpacking trip through Europe with my best friend after college graduation. I’ve traveled as much as possible ever since. An admitted bird nerd, my interest in wildlife has taken me to Guyana, Antarctica, and Ethiopia, among others, plus 10 days volunteering at a Griffon Vulture rescue center in Croatia.
I’ve worked for ad agencies, nonprofits, and companies large and small, and written about just about everything, but I’ve always been happiest writing about travel. I joined World Nomads in 2017 as Editorial Producer, and now manage the Stories and Explore sections. I love that I get to learn and think about travel all day. I work with a team of smart, fun, talented people, and meet incredibly interesting writers and adventurers with the most amazing stories to tell. But what I like most about World Nomads is how we encourage responsible, open-minded travel in all our readers, whether they’re pushing their limits or exploring their own back yard.
