The daughter of a British Forces family, Katie's childhood was spent in the in-between, traveling from airport to airport. Amongst the nine-hour car rides and unpacked boxes, she spent her weekends cycling through graffiti-covered Flemish underpasses and browsing post-soviet Moscow flea markets for knock-off VHS tapes and whistles shaped like water spirits. Her writing discusses the third-culture-child experience of being both a part of the surrounding community and a voyager at the same time.
