Kate left the mining world in the Australian desert five years ago, and along with her partner, sold everything they owned and went traveling with a mindset of slow travel.
They have traveled to all seven continents, living in all kinds of situations from a leaky wooden boat with a disabled cat to hurricane-ravaged haciendas.
She vows never to climb another volcano and still can't believe they survived after being caught in an elephant stampede in South Africa.
Currently based in Portugal, Kate's main passion is photography and has had work published in National Geographic. She also blogs at Vagrants of the World Travel.
