Coronavirus (COVID-19) travel restrictions in Cambodia – updated 24 June 2021

Travel to Cambodia

To travel to Cambodia, you will require a visa, and this must be arranged before arrival, as the Government has suspended the e-visa and visa-on-arrival programs.

Cambodian Embassies are only accepting applications for diplomatic, official, and sponsored business-linked visas, and are not issuing tourist or other visas to enter Cambodia. Contact your local Cambodian Embassy for more information.

It is currently not possible to enter or depart Cambodia through land borders as the Cambodia-Laos, Cambodia-Thailand and Cambodia-Vietnam land borders are closed.

All arriving foreigners must:

  • Fully abide by locally enforced quarantine measures for 14 days at a facility designated by the Government of Cambodia.
  • Pay a deposit of US$2,000 upon arrival at airports for mandatory COVID-19 testing and potential treatment services.  The money will be used to pay for accommodation during the quarantine, testing and transportation from an airport to a hotel.
  • Possess a COVID-19 negative medical certificate issued no more than 72 hours prior to the date of arrival, issued by a competent and licensed health authority of their residing country. At this time it appears this is required regardless of vaccine status.
  • Have proof of insurance that includes a minimum of US $50,000 for medical coverage.
  • Undergo a COVID-19 test upon arrival and wait in official facilities/designated hotels to receive laboratory results. All travelers are required to take a COVID-19 test on the 13th day of quarantine at either the Khmer-Soviet Friendship Hospital in Phnom Penh or the Chak Angre Clinic in Phnom Penh.

Cambodian authorities have imposed lockdown measures for certain areas designated as “Red Zones,” “Dark Yellow Zones,” or “Yellow Zones".

The public is directed to wear masks, use hand sanitizers and practice social distancing, and avoid gatherings of more than 20 people.

Here are a few travel safety tips to consider when choosing a destination or hotel, low-risk activities, and how to limit the spread of COVID-19.

Check your government's travel advice before making any plans, and be prepared for potential delays due to the pandemic.
