Oakland, California/U.S. - January 8, 2026 — World Nomads has been named an award winner in the prestigious U.S. News & World Report’s 2026 ‘Best Travel Insurance Companies’ ratings, earning recognition across multiple categories for its coverage options and traveler-focused approach.

World Nomads received Gold Award Badges in the following categories:

  • Best Travel Insurance Companies
  • Best Cancel for Any Reason Travel Insurance
  • Best Annual Travel Insurance

The U.S. News & World Report Best Travel Insurance Companies ratings evaluate providers based on factors that matter most to travelers, including coverage options, consumer satisfaction, financial strength, and expert analysis.

“These awards are especially meaningful because they validate the work we’ve done to listen to travelers and respond to what they told us they looked for in their travel insurance,” said Christina Tunnah, Head of the Americas for World Nomads. “We introduced our Optional Cancel for Any Reason benefit and Annual Plan in late 2024 to give travelers more flexibility and peace of mind, and this recognition from U.S. News & World Report affirms that those benefits were not only needed in the market, but delivered in a way that truly resonated. It’s gratifying to see that effort reflected in these awards.”

Since their introduction, World Nomads’ Optional Cancel for Any Reason benefit and Annual Plan have quickly become two of the company’s most engaged product offerings, ranking among the most visited and researched pages on the World Nomads website. Both products have also seen strong uptake in the US, reflecting sustained demand from travelers seeking greater flexibility and streamlined coverage. The recognition from U.S. News & World Report reinforces this alignment between customer need and product design, underscoring how these offerings respond to evolving travel behaviors and expectations.

For the 2026 ratings, U.S. News travel editors evaluated 45 travel insurance providers and their policies, analyzing data from multiple sources, including professional ratings and reviews, consumer feedback, and financial strength assessments from A.M. Best, a global credit rating agency. Methodologies vary by product category and are published by U.S. News on each ratings page.
