Media Release: Sydney – World Nomads, a fast-growing, global travel insurance provider, is excited to unveil their latest travel scholarship. This extraordinary opportunity invites aspiring photographers and filmmakers to travel on assignment on a 9-day trip, starting 19 October in Bergen, Norway.
The three winners will travel to join Hurtigruten’s 9-day North Cape Express – Half Voyage from Bergen to Tromsø. In their quest to view the spectacular Northern Lights, winners will have plenty of opportunity to capture stunning photographs and videos that align with real briefs provided by World Nomads and campaign partners.

Throughout the trip, participants will receive personalized 1:1 mentoring from award-winning travel creatives, Dan and Zora Avila of The Travel Shooters who will share their industry insights and help the scholarship recipients develop new skills.

The three scholarship winners will each receive prizes valued at more than US$15,000. The prize package includes round-trip economy airfare from the winner's nearest international airport to Norway and $150 toward travel insurance, courtesy of World Nomads. Winners will also receive a state-of-the-art Fujifilm XT-5 Camera with a FUJINON XF18-55mmF2.8-4 R LM OIS lens, Think Tank camera bags, 500kg Carbon Removal Package ($500 value) to offset travel emissions from Tomorrow’s Air, and $500 USD spending money thanks to Adventure.Travel.
For a chance to win, aspiring visual storytellers will need to create a 30-second video or submit up to five of their best photos that tell a story about a place they have visited. They’ll need to provide a link to their publicly accessible entry and share the story and process behind the submission in 150 words or less. Judges will meet a shortlist of winners over Zoom and then award the three scholarship winners.
The competition runs from 13 July to 20 August and promises to be a transformative experience for aspiring visual storytellers, providing them with the opportunity to hone their skills, explore the breathtaking landscapes of Norway, and create content that inspires wanderlust in others.
