The storm has since moved westward and is forecast to continue towards Taiwan, the Ryukyu Islands, and eastern China, with the potential for further travel disruptions in affected areas.

Sale of World Nomads

As part of the global sale by nib Travel Pty Ltd (nib) of its World Nomads travel business to the International Medical Group Inc family of companies (IMG), NIB Travel Services Europe Limited (nib EU) will transfer its regulated activities to IMG Europe AB (IMG EU) provided certain conditions are fulfilled. The transfer will not affect the insurer or the terms of the insurance policy. Policies will continue to be underwritten by Collinson Insurance Europe Limited following completion of the transaction, with the only change being that IMG EU will replace nib EU as the intermediary responsible for the distribution of policies.

We’re required to let customers know about this change under banking and consumer protection regulations.

IMG EU is authorised and regulated in Sweden and can provide services across the European Economic Area (EEA).

We anticipate the sale to complete between 31 August 2026 and 1 December 2026. We’ll confirm the exact date closer to the time here.

From completion of the sale, IMG EU will replace NIB EU as the Intermediary responsible for the distribution of policies.

Yes. If your policy covers travel after the sale completes, your cover will continue as expected.

No. You don’t need to do anything other than continuing to receive the service to express your agreement to the transfer of your policy and data to IMG EU.

If you buy a new policy after the sale takes place, it will still be with Collinson as the insurer, it will just be issued by IMG instead of nib. This won’t affect the level of cover you receive.

Your policy details and personal information, including all individuals covered under the policy, will be securely transferred to IMG so that your cover can continue and you can continue to receive services.

Your information will continue to be handled in line with applicable data protection laws, our global privacy policy and where applicable the policy in your country of residence. It will also continue to be shared with relevant partners (such as the policy insurer) and, for a period, with nib to support a smooth transition.

You have the right to object to your data being transferred to IMG, however if you have an active policy with us at the time of the sale completing, it may need to be cancelled as continuity cannot occur without your data being transferred. If you wish to exercise this right to object or to obtain personalised information on the consequences of exercising this right, please contact us on the details provided below.

No. Once completion occurs, your policy and any new policies that you purchase will remain underwritten by Collinson Insurance Europe Limited and captured in the same travel insurance platform to ensure continuity of service in accordance with your policy. The only difference is that your policies after completion of the sale will be distributed by IMG EU.

For policies sold pre completion of the sale to IMG, it is in your best interests to notify us as soon as possible should you have any complaint or potential claim. After the sale occurs, your complaint or claim may no longer be covered by nib’s professional indemnity insurance (PII). For policies purchased post completion of the sale, IMG’s PII will be applicable.

Trip Mate is rebranding to "Redion," but the company itself is not changing. This is simply a name change and will not impact customers, claims handling, or the services provided.

Spirit Airlines Closure - May 2026

Travel Protection Plans that include travel insurance underwritten by United States Fire Insurance Company may provide benefits that can be triggered by the closure and liquidation of Spirit Airlines. Coverage can vary by State, so you should review your plan document for possible benefits under Trip Cancellation, Trip Interruption, Missed Connection, or Trip Delay as these coverages may provide protection for losses resulting from financial insolvency in certain circumstances. Since this event is no longer unforeseen, policies issued on or after May 2, 2026 will not cover this event.

If you are currently impacted by the conflict in the Middle East and unable to return home before the end date of your policy, provided you had purchased your policy prior to 12pm AET on 1 March 2026, we will offer a free extension of cover until you are able to return home as soon as it becomes possible. You do not have to do anything for this extension to apply, and cover will continue to be available per the terms of your policy for events unrelated to war.
